Will is an AICP certified planner with five years of experience consulting municipal governments and large development firms to create projects that meet multiple bottom lines. He has overseen the redevelopment of hundreds of acres representing tens of millions of dollars of investment, and developed foundational planning documents that enhance the quality of the built environment in client communities for generations to come. As a planner with a background in the social work profession, Will excels in anticipating the quality-of-life impacts of land use policy decisions. Will has a unique sensitivity to engaging with the public to ensure that they have meaningful influence over projects taking shape where they live, work and play. Additionally, Will is highly experienced in the redevelopment of contaminated properties, having overseen the successful transformation of hundreds of acres of brownfields that had sat vacant for decades into true community assets.
Before his time with Topology, Will spent three years working as a Program Coordinator for Perth Amboy’s Office of Economic and Community Development, where he oversaw the implementation of and completion of grant applications for community development projects, including park improvements, public health initiatives, and sustainability and resiliency planning. Will has also previously worked in the non-profit sector, in private educational settings providing literacy instruction for children with learning disabilities, and is a proud alumni of the Americorps service program.
Will has successfully contributed to multiple speaking engagements on brownfield development with NJIT, the NJDEP, and the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority Urban Land Institute. In his free time, Will is a prolific gardener, cultivating a variety of edible and decorative plants for his personal enjoyment and local community gardens in addition to being an ambitious backpacker and an aspiring Adirondack 46er. He spends weeks’ worth of time camping in the backcountry wilderness each year.
