Nicole Goldstein is a dedicated professional with a background in Urban and Environmental Planning and International Development, demonstrating a keen interest in fostering community-led planning, sustainable local food systems, public and active transport, and climate resilience. Leveraging a systems thinking approach at the micro-level, Nicole excels in her work with a focus on research, writing, and meticulous attention to detail. At Topology, where Nicole has been contributing since September 2023, she specializes in land use application review and report drafting. Her versatility is evident in her ability to perform data analysis, researching and synthesizing data for deliverable reports.
In a voluntary role, Nicole has been serving as a co-author for Dr. Marco Amati since September 2023. Collaborating on an Open-Source Academic book focused on reclaiming Public Space and Placemaking, she has played a vital role in producing one of the book’s chapters, performing thematic analysis, editing, and crafting the abstract. During her internship with Cultivating Community in Melbourne, Australia (June 2018 - February 2019), Nicole played a pivotal role in supporting local and sustainable food systems efforts. Her responsibilities included creating promotional materials for community events, assisting with community garden projects, conducting background research, and supporting senior staff in grant writing applications. In a previous internship at Open Table (June 2018 - November 2018), Nicole worked directly with the company’s CEO, consolidating and maintaining the company's CRM, leading the creation of a regular company newsletter, and producing a comprehensive Operations Manual. From her previous experiences Nicole brings her passion for sustainable local food systems and placemaking to her role as a Planner at Topology.
Nicole speaks conversational Spanish, possesses QGIS competency, and demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. In her leisure time, Nicole enjoys film photography, practices yoga, plays tennis, and plays the piano.
